Introducing...My Dictionary

Question
Introducing...My Dictionary
Answer

A big part of learning English — or any language — is practice. You can practice English by reading something you haven't read before, or by speaking with someone in English. You can also study English words that you've already seen or heard. Sometimes you have to see or hear a word many times before you can remember its meaning quickly. If you have to look up certain words in the dictionary more than once, then it might help to create a separate group of those words and their dictionary entries for practice. That's what My Dictionary is for. When you look up a word and you decide that you want to save that word's dictionary entry so you can easily find it again, just click the blue "+" symbol that appears next to the entry. That entry will become part of your special personal dictionary, which you can find by clicking the "My Dictionary" tab.

When you want to practice, you can drag words from your My Dictionary group to the Flashcards box on the lower right-hand corner of the Web page. The Flashcard will show you one word at a time without its definition, and you can try to remember it. Click on the word and the definition will appear to see if you're correct.

Using vocabulary quizzes to practice your English will help you make great progress.
